Steps to Starting the Application Process:

It is important that the instructor is notified so he/she can correctly assess your child's progress, review the material, make a recommendation and sign the promotion application form. *Additional Information on Adaptive Program Requirements for Adult Promotion

Blind - Wed 5pm, Thu 4:30pm, Sat 11am
Promotion candidates should bring a blindfold. The objective is for students to learn how to apply their other senses to their karate training. Students will train alongside the blind and visually impaired students, learn protocol for assisting blind people inside and outside the dojo, and as needed, may assist teaching blind students. We also welcome anyone to assist our classes, even outside of promotion requirements.

YAI - Tue and Thu 5:45pm
Students who intend to participate as an assistant at YAI (Young Adult Institute) to make-up classes before promotion should arrive at 460 W 34th Street, New York, NY by 5:45pm. Upon arriving, please provide a state issued ID to the security guard at the front desk. After receiving a pass to gain entry to the building, please proceed to the 9th floor and change into your Gi. We bring the students up to the 12th floor by 6 PM. When assisting students in the YAI program, it is expected that you help the main instructors by mirroring technique, working one-on-one with a student (usually a white belt) if need be, and promote a positive energy for the hour that you assist. Please email Senpai Hannah (maratea101@gmail.com) the night before to let her know you will be there.

Kids Program - assist with any kids class
Show up 20 minutes early and let the instructor know you will be assisting.
