Black Belt Clinic Weekend 2009

As always, Friday kicks off the weekend with a special promotion for out-of-town black belt students testing to Shodan, Nidan and Sandan. This special black belt promotion starts at 10:00 am on Friday, June 5th and will continue throughout the entire day, ending around 8:00 pm. Black Belts are encouraged to arrive in the afternoon (after 4:00 pm) to help with the final stages of promotion.

At 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 6, branch chiefs and head instructors convene for their annual meeting with Kaicho and Nidaime. Immediately following the meeting, a "Welcome Party" for our out-of-town visitors starts at Honbu at 6:00 pm. As always, any help that can be provided by Honbu members and black belts from our local branches will be greatly appreciated. On Sunday, we will be taking a commemorative group photo on the 25th anniversary of the photo taken in 1984 at Battery Park. This year's photo shoot will take place at 8:00 am (be there, in gi, by 7:45 am). The original photo was taken at Battery Park, but because we anticipate a very large turnout, we've made special arrangements with the NYPD to take our photo in front of the NYC Post Office Headquarters located at 421 Eighth Avenue (at 33rd street). We will return to Honbu around 9:30 to attend training that starts at 10:00.

It's been 25 years since the last picture was taken at Battery Park, so don't miss this opportunity. Every Black Belt is a significant contributor to the health and strength of Seido Karate. We hope to see you at this important event!
