42nd Anniversary Benefit Tournament: Oct 20

The 42nd Anniversary Benefit Tournament is almost here!

The tournament will take place on Saturday October 20, 2018 at John Jay College at 899 10th Avenue (between 58th & 59th), NYC.

All students are encouraged to participate and compete in all events open to their corresponding belt level.  If not competing, please volunteer and show your support by cheering everyone on from the sidelines.

Please Note:  All Competitors, Volunteers, and Spectators need to provide a photo ID at the check-in desk at John Jay College.

Registration

Active Seido Students have 2 ways to register:

1) Download the paper application (2018-SeidoTournamentApplication) and email to info@seido.com, drop off at the Honbu or Honzan front desks, or mail to Honbu. ​Payment ​may ​be ​made ​by ​cash, certified check, ​Visa, ​or ​Mastercard.

2) Follow this link (https://goo.gl/RkC1Uq) to register online. Scroll to view all of the Tournament events. This is a secure site and all purchases are processed through the Seido student database. ​Payment ​may ​be ​made ​by ​Visa ​or ​Mastercard.

PLEASE NOTE: You must login using the email address we have on file as your username. If you have forgotten your password, click "Forgot your password?"
If you are an active student and receive an error when you try to login DO NOT click "Create an Account". This will not provide you with access to your student profile. You must email info@seido.com to request access to book into events.

IMPORTANT: Please verify that your Rank is correct!
On the top right, click on your name and "My Info". If your current Rank is not shown or is incorrect, please email info@seido.com with your name, membership number, branch, head instructor, your current rank, and your last promotion date. Click on the green "Edit" button to upload a new photo and update your contact information.
 Green Belts and ABOVE -- please enter your current weight if you are participating in Kumite or Breaking events.

ALL registration elements (applications, signatures, payment) must be received by Honbu or Honzan no later than Saturday, October 6th at 3pm EDT.  Incomplete or late applications will NOT be processed without these requirements and you will not be registered for Tournament. Applications, unless confirmed, will not guarantee your place in the Tournament. "Lost" applications will not be accepted. Please confirm receipt of your emailed/faxed/mailed application and payment with our staff.

Children's Demo

If you have a child who is an active student in the Children's program, at any Seido branch, they can participate in a special demonstration. In order to participate the release form must be returned by Saturday October 13th. All children participating in the demonstration receive free admission to the tournament and will receive a medal. Family members who wish to accompany them must purchase tickets. Click HERE to download the Children's Demo Release Form.

Honbu Class Schedule

Adult Students traveling to NYC from other dojos can purchase a pass to train on Friday Oct 19th with Nidaime at 12:30pm and meditation at 1:30pm. Children can join the children's classes starting at 4:00pm.

CHANGES TO HONBU SCHEDULE
Friday Oct 19:
 Regular schedule up through classes starting at 4:30pm. All classes from 5:15pm - 8:00pm are canceled.
Saturday Oct 20: Honbu CLOSED
Sunday Oct 21: Regular Sunday schedule

Spectator Tickets

You can purchase spectator tickets through the student portal (seidokarate.perfectmind.com), at Honbu, Johshin Honzan, or from your local dojo.
Adults (15 years and older) = $10
Children (4-14 years) = $5
Children (3 years and younger) = FREE

Tickets are $5 extra if purchased at the door on tournament day.

Tournament proceeds benefit:
- The Trevor Project providing crisis and suicide intervention for LGBTQ youth
- American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
- Seido Juku Benefit Foundation benefiting the Seido Adaptive Programs for the blind, deaf, mentally challenged, and veterans.
