lives by applying what they have learned to improve upon their regular roles
and routines, and to also become contributors to the community and society
at large. One's study of karate should not be limited to personal training.
It should extend to one's ability to care for those who are less fortunate.
This ability to care for others facilitates the creation of a more beautiful
and peaceful community.

we are all unique in our way of thinking and communicating, it can be difficult
at times to thoroughly understand each other. However, we must eliminate any

other's differences, and focus on trying to heal each other and develop healthy
relationships. Like a family, we are all responsible for taking care of each
other. In a bigger sense, this responsibility is the way of humanity. In order
for one to establish a strong foundation in karate-do, one must master basic
techniques. Similarly, in order for one to develop stable relationships, one
must gain mastery in communication. A flashy technique or approach may look
good, but it will never last unless it is a refinement of basic skills. Thus,
the importance of ren ma (continuous polishing).
